This is a page about Ben.  What happened, who he was, what we are trying to accomplish in his name. 

Benjamin passed away at age 7 due to a severe asthma related health issue. Benjamin had a passion for life, the arts and sports.  In his honor, we were able to give back to the local community over the last year. 

We have been able to:

• Donate 20 new iPods for use in elementary school classrooms
• Provide scholarships for two graduating high school students to further their studies in the Arts (visual arts, graphic arts or performing arts)
• Fund an elementary school poetry project and a classroom visit by a poet to work with the students directly
• Provide assistance with asthma-related prescription costs to families with limited insurance coverage

Benjamin loved creativity, imagination, building with Legos, his family, his friends and helping others. With your generous donation, we will continue to keep his spirit alive by giving back and helping to raise awareness concerning the serious dangers of asthma. 

Ben Was Here, Inc. is a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity founded in 2014 in memory of Benjamin Buckley.

• Member of the Board of Directors for the Allergy and Asthma Network, since January 1, 2016
• Recipient of the Outstanding Patient in Research on May 7, 2015 from the Allergy and Asthma Network
• Member of the Committee for Connecticut Asthma Initiative
